Lately, I've been feeling the Indonesian Book-reading vibe. I think it's because I scored some good ones—with tremendous covers, no less—during the holiday and I've been spotting a lot of intriguing recommendations through Goodreads—add me there, if you have an account! There's not really much I want to say on each book, I suppose, because I haven't read any of them yet. This list is more for me, to remember, for the next time I find myself at a local bookstore, in the prowl for some local books—so that I will actually get to read titles I've been lusting after for quite some time. They're not in any particular order, by the way. If you own/have read any of the books listed above, please let me know what you think—also, let me know if I could borrow from you! Wishlist: Literature III

As part of my 23 Before 24 list, I wanted to read more and more non-fiction. So I began scouring the internet for inspiration of books in this genre to read. So far, I've been reading non-fictions hanging out on my mighty bookshelf at home—and sometimes I feel like I'm the only one using it—but there are tons of awesome books being published everyday. And here are the top 10 that I've been lusting after so far. If any of you have any of these, please let me borrow it for a while. We could even trade, if you want. (Number 2 and 4 are top priority!) Let me know!

Fashionable Kimonos by DOUBLE MAISON

What do you think about when you think about kimonos? No, not talking about the hyped up version. The traditional, authentic from Japan kind of kimono. For the most part, they're really thick in culture and traditions. Not only do they use materials which have been used for hundreds of years, the patterns are really true to nature and ethnically appropriate. However, these ones by Double Maison - under the direction of Omori Yuuko - are quite up-to-date, following current trends and using western patterns, such as gingham, novelty prints, and lace - and mixing it up with traditional symbols. At the same time, keeping it simple and not over the top. Not only the kimonos, the accessories are also designed in a way that matches the kimono, using matching materials and colours. I feel like this way kimono will speak to younger generations, making it possible for them to incorporate them in everyday life. It's amazing how well these patterns look on the cut of traditional kimonos. How cool! I guess, my dream of having batik-patterned kimono is moving one step closer to coming true.

Book of Deer SS 15: Country Kitchen

On my last post, I did say I was going to Jakarta Fashion Week but I'm sorry to say that I went into surgery instead. So, of course, that's JFW out the window. However, earlier last week, I saw Book of Deer's incredibly adorable collection, Country Kitchen. If you've been around long enough, you might have known my undying love for BoD. I really adore their concept of incorporating Eilidh's wondrous illustrations into their clothing pieces for every collection. Eilidh Ho, the founder of BoD is as an illustrator herself already quite talented and using clothes to sell her talent is such an inspiring idea. How is it that wearing clothes with kitchen cutleries on them not seem strange? In fact, rather inviting? My heart is especially set on that oven mit skirt. The design is very simple yet incredibly intriguing. The best part is, whether you're a fireball in the kitchen or a complete mess, you can still wear all these pieces and feel good about yourself. Cannot wait 'til they're in store already.

Sartorial Obsession: Yellow Dress

Every time autumn hits, this is the item I yearn for. Despite having over 20 dresses in my wardrobe, none of them is in yellow. It's strange since yellow is one of my top 5 favourite colours. It's right there with orange and red - yes, I realise they're all autumn colours. In the yellow family, mustard being the number one choice. That's the reason why as soon as H&M launched their mustard tights, I did not hesitate to purchase one. But in the form of a dress, mustard or other yellow shades is much more convincing. The perfect colour to blend with nature. I'm quite shocked to find I don't own many yellow clothing pieces. And, for some reason, so many clothing brands choose to go with the safe and classic black-and-white so finding a yellow dress - let alone the perfect one - is quite a challenge.

Primark // Dear Creatures // Tealace

When one of my favourite YouTubers Zoella did a Primark haul on her channel a while back, I was completely smitten by this polkadot dress. I went scouring the internet for a used one - and almost had it but I hesitated in buying and ended up purchasing none. Though it was for sale in the summer, the material and thickness seem more suited for warmer weather. The collar is adorned with little faux pearls, which I didn't recognise before and now I'm glad I didn't buy it. I can't deny the style is top notch, though. The one from Dear Creatures undoubtedly caught my heart. To be honest, the navy version looks ten thousand times more to my liking. But, alas, the price was way more than what I can afford. The sailor style has always been my favourite. The third dress - though way too bright for my taste - has such a unique cut that it made it to one of my favourites. It's sold out now, go figure.

Here are some of the books that I couldn't find in the library but really want to venture into. If anyone has any of these books, I would be ever so grateful if you let me borrow them for a read. I promise I will give them back. I always do. These are numbered in no particular order, by the way. Also, aside from these titles, you can see the books that I want to read here. Feel free to leave a recommendations of more good books you've been reading recently. I will check each and every one of them out.

Sartorial Obsession: Denim Jacket

Summer is coming closer and a good denim jacket seems like such a must. I've been spotting them everywhere in thrift stores and retail branches. Also, a lot of people seem to be wearing them simultaneously. But I guess it's the lusting syndrome. You know, like when you want a baby and you can't unsee all the babies? It's kind of like that, except that purchasing a denim jacket is probably less painful than giving birth. The best part of this sartorial gem is the fact that almost no two pieces are the same and there are millions of shades and tons of styles to choose from. Also, given that what you own is authentic denim, the colour will change in time with each wash. Of course, this could backfire on you and you might not like how it looks later on because the colour has changed. But it adds a predictable element to the number. I guess, that's probably why denim has been the wear of cool kids for generations.

Tieka // Louise // Zuz // Triple Thread

I've actually acquired one myself as of recently. Thank God it's such a thriftable piece. Otherwise, I should never be able to obtain one. Obviously, I will be sharing an outfit with it soon. Maybe even sooner than you think. It's actual one size too big for me but it fits like a glove. Well, maybe a little more comfortable than a glove. It is so breezy and lightweight but definitely not too cold to wear on a spring day. With the weather changing before you can turn around, it is definitely helpful to keep one handy. The fact that it goes with everything most definitely helps. Mine is quickly becoming the star of my wardrobe. I'll be sure to wear them all the time this spring (and summer?) so please bear with me on this because I. am. OBSESSED!

ModCloth's "Uniquely You" Campaign

Last week ModCloth contacted me (eep! I could hardly believe it!) and asked me to participate in a challenge for their "Uniquely You" campaign. Basically, several bloggers are picked and given an item from their shop. They are then asked to create an outfit in a storyboard with said item along with up to 7 other items in their shop using Wanelo. Each week a winner will be picked and these lucky ones will have their entries as well as a link to their blogs displayed on ModCloth's Wanelo page. This week, the item is this gorgeous and drool-worthy Beach Blanket Bingo Two Piece in Soft Black. I have to say, styling a swimsuit is not my forte. I've never even been to a beach. But it was very fun and I could seriously picture myself wearing this outfit. Despite its very vintage cut, I tried to style it at least somewhat more modern and practical.
