Preppy Patterns

Winter is finally here! It's finally snowing here! And real nice and white too. Love the snow, hate the inexplicably slippery roads. I fell on my butt just yesterday on my way to school. Despite the cold, I'm still trying to figure out ways to mix and match my outfits. So here's what I'm wearing now.

Shirt: Matahari Department Store
Plaid Skirt: C&A
Legging: H&M

A closer look at those ballerina pantoffel from Tracce.
Jacket: C&A

I love this kind of buttons on coats or jackets ♥
By the way, is the collar what most people call a peter pan collar? I'm currently in love with it but I don't think I have one. Ooh! Next stop, I think I'll try to mix up my graphic tee with one of my skirts or something. Gotta love those tees~

My Fair Lady

Good afternoon, everybody! Today I will show you how to wear the vintage skirt from the flea market just like I promised. It is the perfect ensemble for tonight. Because tonight I'm going to see My Fair Lady with my girlfriends! So here goes.

First off, I match the skirt with my colonial-styled shirt, layered with a simple black cardigan. The skirt is actually a little loose so I tightened it up with a belt. The belt gives a little southern touch to it what with the horse and all. Now, the hair is simply ponytailed with a ribbon to make it more interesting. It's snowing today by the way. Loving it very much!

In-Budget Shopping

First of all, you have to know that I didn't take the following pictures to blog them but now that I think about it. Hey, why not? All right, and second of all, who says you cannot have beautiful clothing without spending a little too much? So here we go.

This was a picture I took on a lazy Sunday afternoon. First off is the red-striped tank underneath from H&M. The striped cardigan is a C&A original. The highlight is the skirt, however. It is a quilt-skirt my mother got me from Tanah Abang, Indonesia. I feel like a gypsy wearing it.

Now this is my outfit from yesterday. The white blouse is from Matahari Department Store back in Indonesia. The bolero I got from NKD for only a couple bucks. The skirt is an Esprit original on discount. The ballerina-like shoes are from Tracce.

Now this is another one of my lovely found! Guess what? I got this beautiful vintage skirt from an Antique Flea Market two weeks ago for just one euro. Beautiful, no? I will show you how I actually wear this tomorrow.

Now, there you go. There are three options you can choose from, either:
  • Buy clothes in cheap markets; but be very careful in checking the quality of the product
  • Buy clothes from major brands on generous discounts
  • Buy clothes from flea markets; which isn't half bad but you need luck on this one

By The Riverside...

Hello, everyone! This is my first blog post on this blog. To be quite honest, I am no fashionista. Ask anyone who knows me, they'd agree. However, I have started to take a liking to fashion thanks to Flashes of Style and A Beautiful Mess. I'm still a rookie but would love to show off what I've got so far and mark my improvement. So this blog is both for myself and other people. I hope you can take a liking to my posts. Here we go!

Rilakkuma makes an appearance! It was a birthday present from my beloved ♥

All right, first things first. The black lace dress is from Esprit. My first ever lace dress that ISN'T for my cousins' weddings. The black cardigan, the scarf and the red coat are from C&A. Okay, I shop retail, so sue me. The necklace is, however, a one-of-a-kind I bought back in Indonesia on a convention. Lovely, no?
