Surprise! Last week I had the chance to meet up with someone I haven't seen in
ages—if you've been here a while, you might recognise her. Yes, it's
Galuh! If you don't know, well, she is the sister of my ex—who used to
cameo a lot
on this blog too. After so long, Galuh came back for a visit to Indonesia and
we finally had a chance to meet up again after the breakup. We went to
The Lapan Square, which is a complex of small eateries and businesses that I recently
discovered through Instagram. The place is located in a rather secluded area,
apparently. It is also a lot smaller than it looks in pictures, but quite
nice. It has several charming points:
Bukabuku, a wonderful, little library for reading around the area;
Chop Club, a small barbershop with a sleek interior;
By Bitte, a lovely, local artisan furniture shop. As for the food, I only managed to
try
CACA's Indonesian cuisine—their mushroom rendang is so delish! A lot of the
tenants have since opened too, apparently, so I'm very excited to come back
and try some more—and finally borrow a book, of course.

It's been so long since I went out to explore the Bintaro area. Since I
started working in Jakarta and formed a relationship with
Agung—who lives in Bekasi, I don't have much time or company to take full
advantage of the South Tangerang area anymore. It's both kind of weird and
nostalgic to see Galuh again, by the way. We used to live together and be up
to our own shenanigans for a while—she was one of my favourite blog
photographers back in the day, since she was always so willing to go to the
length I'd go. Though she doesn't really have an artistic bone in her body if
she tries, she has a good eye for composition when it comes to photos—as you
can see from these photos above. We're very different people and don't always
see each other eye to eye, but seeing her again reminds me how much fun we
used to have together—and also what I lost along with that relationship.
Although we are no longer sisters, I truly hope we'll remain friends from now
on.
