Cheese Streak, Cheese Party of Fries and Dogstar |
For all my talk of eating healthy just last week, here I find myself in a hot
dog bar, stuffing my face in artificial cheese and lots of fat. But, hey,
don't knock it 'til you try it! You may already know of this new venture by
the same crew who brought us
Lawless Burgerbar. Last week
Agung
and I had the pleasure of grabbing a tasty bite there. With a sleek
early-2000's R&B vibe and pretty much everything freshly made, this hot
dog joint is not one to beat. They have several unique menus of hot dogs,
french fries and corn dogs to choose from—all of them absolutely
mouth-watering. Even just the basic-looking Dogstar is incredibly yummy, with
an amazing homemade mustard sauce—wrapped in beef bacon and enhanced with all
sorts of pickles makes it even better. Also, I'm surprised by how good the
cheese is, especially since the colour looks anything but natural. As for the
interior, it is like a time machine, transporting us back in time to the era
of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Beastie Boys, which gives the food a flavour
from childhood.

You know, at first, we didn't want to go here because we thought a mere hot
dog would not be enough for a meal—it's got to be a snack, right? But, after
devouring two whole hot dogs and a plate of fries, we were proven completely
wrong. We were so full, we didn't even have dinner again afterwards—granted,
it was a really late lunch. Also, everything just tasted so fresh—even the
unnatural-looking cheese! There were at least 3 kinds of pickles to choose
from—cucumber, red onion and one more thing I didn't know—which Agung
absolutely loved! The best thing is: their cutlery is made of bamboo! I guess I got so excited to come here for the first
time—finally!—that I even put on an outfit that matches the vibe of the entire
joint. I even put on some baggy jeans—while I've been wearing strictly skirts
for at least a month lately. The t-shirt—as with the
previous post, if you notice—is a lovely little hand-me-down from my one-and-only. It's
kind of funny when things work out unexpectedly like that, huh?
