June in Overview

Excited about...
Comic Frontier 7! Finally it's coming next month and I'm giddy with glee! I've printed my business cards, which you might have seen on instagram—otherwise, you'll see them on the blog soon enough. Also, I'm very excited to enter all sorts of contests over the next few months. I've accumulated a few competitions that I want to enter and I'm very, very nervous to see how everything turns out. Either way, you'll be seeing a whole lot more work from me from now on—though might be posted on my tumblr page, not here. Hope you're excited about those too!

Currently reading...
die ZEIT Campus. It's a German magazine which focuses on university life as well as the transition into work life. They deal with different topics surrounding this theme bi-monthly. When I lived in Germany, I used to subscribe to them for a while, so I kind of hoarded quite a lot of them. However, when I moved back home—maybe out of heartbreak or pure common sense—, I threw some of them away. They were barely touched before anyway, so I guess it just seemed practical to me. But, all of a sudden, I am enchanted with the German language once again and can't get enough of it. This is an interesting publication after all.

Currently watching...
終わりのセラフ (Seraph of the End). If you love hunky boys, vampires and military theme, then this is the anime for you. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where most of the human species have been eradicated by a mysterious disease and vampires have taken hold of some children in their kingdom. However, on the outside, there are apparently still some humans left who are ready to fight the vampires if need be. The plot is shrouded in mystery as the truth about the disease surfaces little by little and the main characters face their own painful past as well as unsure future.

Currently listening...
Out on the Town by FUN.. Lately, I've been listening to their album Some Nights over and over and over again. Usually, I skip straight back to the first track after One Foot, because I just don't like the next track. But, recently, I accidentally let the 11th track play and it was this song. It just has a sort of midsummer night feel to it, complete with the youthful and melancholic atmosphere. The song seems to fit the Paper Towns film to me, but I'm not sure if it's ever been used for its soundtrack. It just seems rife with change and growth and, eventually, farewells.

Thinking about...
Friendship. It's very personal but I've been going through a lot of feelings and thoughts on this matter. How come people keep talking about how to have a lasting romantic relationship? Or how to even start one? But no one seems to bat an eyelash when it comes to friendship. This topic has always been complex for me. I never truly understand friendship and can't believe how quickly and dynamically it changes. There is a line from one of my favourite songs that goes, "The friends you thought you'd never lose will soon forget your name" and it almost seems to ring true this month.
